Hello there! Also Speedisko Vol.2 Review

Now while, I'd like to start a blog with awesomes, I decided to start off with a review of an album I can't stop listening to. It's awesome, and it's by my favourite record company Diskowarp. There's pretty much 2 reasons why I prefer Diskowarp to other record companies. One of which is that they are actually listening to people praising them, and the other has to be that their songs are fucking awesome. I loved the first Speedisko Vol 1. and this is no different. 8 tracks of pure Hi-NRG/Happy Hardcore win. Let's look at the album art.

Before I start the review I must warn you: I'm a terrible reviewer. But I do have a system that works, if I like it and think other people should get it, I'll tell you. In what can be a sarcastic way and pretty much insane. I'm too used to reviewing the Vidya Gaem (Video Games) anyways.

The album art is pretty awesome, it has that art that I know Diskowarp for.

Now onto the songs:

The opening track (I Wanna be a Ninja (Speedisko Version) - Becky), is a great tune to start the album off and set up the album perfectly for what it is (HAPPY SONGS), and has a great catchy hook. However it did remind of me of the bane of the earth for me, J-Pop. Besides that however, I thought the first song was really good and really has that opening track feel (makes or breaks the album for me).

The second track (Need to Find You (Inital P 2010 White Label Remake) - JustinB feat. Charlotte) I didn't really like as much, however I thought it was a great tune to listen to. But the third track (Don't Don't Go Away (Ian K Remix) - Foxxie), really did something for me, I thought it was a really good tune, and the small drum'n'bass parts at some parts helped the happy vibe as well. Despite being a bit repetitive, I really like the track quite a lot.

The fourth track (Space Space Shooter (Disko Warp Brand New Remix) - Kick & Punch) feels nostagalistic yet somehow new at the same time, I mean it really does a lot. It also has an unintentional reference to Kara - Mister with a small vocal clip (123456 hit it), and yet that may be random, but I know my K-Pop! The rest of the song uses all of the style it can to make the song sound amazing. I know my description seems really positive and kind of blunt, but hey, I like these songs. And you should too!

The fifth track (I Love you Goodbye - Sonatia) not only is the first non-remix song on this album, but is also one of the tracks I liked a lot. I mean it has a lot going for it, but since my brain requires 280bpm constantly to actually listen, I didn't like it as much as some of the other songs, but it is still a great song that you should listen to, like ALL of the songs on this album. The sixth track (Keep it Real (Diskowarp Techpara Remix) - Thomas Howard Lichtenstein) is a good song as well, with it's hooks and also it has a nice eurogate (a synth on Fruity Loops) sound at the start which hooked me in pretty damn well. I liked the song quite a lot and personally if I never heard it before, I'd think Cher made it. But since the background is different, I just think that the vocalist is like Cher, without the whole auto-tuney bullshit.

The seventh track (My Life is So Crazy - Initial P) is the second track that isn't a remix. I personally feel that it continues the whole feel of U.F.O. Catcher, the previous Initial P track on Speedisko Vol. 1, by the way is also a fucking sweet album that you must buy. This track doesn't get boring nor does it sound like it's been shortened. It really has that great song feel. I think that the song is great, and well worth listening to if you haven't already.

The final track (Don't Have My Baby (Chris Jay Remix) - Peroxide Mocha), is a great final track that ends everything quite nicely, with a relaxed bpm and background track to fit the vocals which are kind of sombre, but it still keeps the happy part of what this album and has some sarcastic lyrics as well.

To end the review, I think you should get this album. It may only have 8 tracks, but those 8 tracks have more personality than what most mainstream artists provide in 12 tracks. It's on Amazon MP3 and iTunes, so you have no reason not to skip getting this album if you like Diskowarp, or Hi-NRG music in any slightest way.

GideonB's Opinion: Get It! Now!

The scale:

Get It! Now! = Must-buy album or game.

Try It! = You should get it, however try it first (demo or preview on iTunes/Amazon MP3)

Fucking Leave It! = As the words imply, just fucking leave it the dust.

Thanks for reading
